The Kitchen Library is a monthly synopsis of recently published cookbooks.

...In addition to this down-home church cookbook, several recent cookbooks celebrating Southern cooking are on the market. Here's a look at a few of them.

...Also from Savannah authors is "Lowcountry Delights," which features recipes from restaurants and bed-and-breakfast inns in Beaufort, Charleston and Savannah.

Co-written by Savannah residents Maxine Pinson and her daughter Malyssa, the book also has special features such as "INNformation for INNgoers," a question-and-answer section about staying at B&Bs. The Pinsons produce a bed-and-breakfast newsletter called The INNside Scoop.

More than 100 recipes from about 50 restaurants and inns are included. Among the featured recipes are tomato bisque with lump crab meat from Magnolia's in Charleston, cheese hot bites from the Rhett House Inn in Beaufort and best-ever orange sponge cake from Forsyth Park Inn in Savannah.

Cost is $19.95 plus shipping and handling for the paperback book. To order online or to print a fax order form, go to the Web site www.innsidescoop.com. Or call (912) 238-4944.
